Learning Mah Jongg is just the beginning—the real fun comes from playing!
I’d love to invite you to join me for First Monday Mah Jongg, my monthly Open Play Night held on the first Monday of each month.
Monday, October 5 | 6:30–9:00 PM
This is a fun and relaxed evening for my students to get together, practice their skills, meet new Mah Jongg friends, and enjoy a few hours around the table. Whether you’re a brand-new player or have been playing for a while, you’re welcome!
Here’s what you can expect:
A quick lesson or tip to get us started, followed by two-plus hours of playing
Assigned tables, giving you the opportunity to meet new people and play with different players
Help when you need it — I’ll be roaming the room to help you choose a hand, answer questions, or settle those “Wait…can I do that?” moments!
Snacks provided — just bring your own drink
Fun surprises and door prizes — a few lucky players will have their names randomly drawn
Only $10 per person, payable by cash or Venmo

Beginner Classes offered in October and November
A Series of Four Beginner American Mah Jongg classes will be offered on each Wednesday in October, starting on October 7, 14, 21, and 28, from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. Students will receive 8 hours of instruction and supervised play.
The November class session will meet on Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. November class dates are 4, 11, 18, 25. (PLEASE NOTE: the last class in November will likely move to December 1 or 2 due to Thanksgiving)
Limit of 12 Students for each session.
Private classes are also available for groups of four or more students. These classes can be scheduled during the day, evenings, or on weekends. Contact me for details at rizzokc@gmail.com
